Frequently Asked Questions

Can I just give you my information and you can make me a card?

Not for any kind of government issued ID card.

We can make custom ID cards for businesses, concert venues, local sports teams, EMS, Fire Departments, etc. (EMS and Fire Departments will require written permission from a department head for verification)

I have an older card, or I can not access the files of my ID, can I send you a scanned copy of my card(s)?

Yes! Please read this before scanning to get the best print results.

My card is beat up, can you repair and print it?

The short answer is yes. If there are tears, scuffs, or marks on it that were not there when it was issued we can remove them. We can only restore them to the way they were initially issued to you. We can not add, remove, edit or change any information at all, including the photo, that was not there originally. Some samples of our document reconstruction can be seen here.

My card is beat up, can you look at it before I order to let me know how it will print?

Yes, of course! Feel free to send us a scan of it to chad@njlibertycards.com and we will tell you if it’s worth it or not.

The tracking information is saying my order is in a different state, did you send it to the right address?

Yes, it is being shipped to whatever shipping address you entered at checkout. From time to time the post office may send items to different sorting facilities around the country (TX, CO, TN, FL, etc.). It will make it back to NJ eventually. Shipping can take anywhere from 2-15 days to arrive. 95% of orders arrive within 2-4 days. We have no control over the post office.

How do you protect my ID cards and keep my information secure? What happens to them after printing is complete?

Cyber security is something we take very seriously therefore we have several protection redundancies in place.

The uploads are protected though shopify servers with end to end TLS encryption which is an updated and more secure version of the typical SSL encryption. This prevents any unauthorized access to the data in transit.

Once printing is completed, all files are digitally shredded using dedicated file destroying software with the US Department of Defense, DoD 5220.22-M (3 passes) algorithm and total verification.

Our computers themselves are behind a series of internal and external firewalls.

The printers themselves are not networked in any way, only locally connected.

We also have anti-spoofing email protections in place and several other security measures (intentionally vague).

Can you fix a spelling error, incorrect information, or change the picture on my ID?

No. We can not legally change anything, including the photo on any ID cards that are issued by the state or government. We can only print cards exactly the way they were issued to you. Any corrections or changed must go through the issuing agency.

I don’t have a scanner, can I just send you a picture?

Pictures really don’t print well. Reflections and skewing makes photos unusable for card printing. It is best to use a flatbed scanner, or a scanner app on your phone. We recommend the free app called 'Genuis Scan'. It will straighten the skewing for the most part, just try to keep your phone as flat as possible while scanning. There are more scanning tips HERE.

Will my information be sold to any 3rd parties?

NEVER. At no time will your information be collected and distributed to anyone, ever.

How do I apply for my NJ Firearms ID card or Permit to Carry?

Applying for your FID or PTC is a straightforward and easy process that can be done online. We encourage anyone that is interested in protecting themselves and their loved ones, as well as exercising their second amendment rights to apply!

The first step is to apply for a firearms ID card and permit(s) to purchase a handgun. Both of those applications can be completed on the NJ FARS website.

If you already have a Firearms ID card and would like to apply for a permit to carry in NJ you can visit this section of the NJ FARS website.
